Pattern Overview

Bladder Damp-Heat is the most common pattern in acute urinary tract infections, characterized by acute bacterial cystitis, burning urination, frequent urination, urgency, yellow or turbid urine, and lower abdominal pain. The core pathogenesis is accumulation of Damp-Heat in the Bladder, causing bacterial colonization, mucosal inflammation, and urinary irritation.

Key Symptoms and Differentiation Points

Differentiation DimensionManifestations
Primary SymptomsBurning urination, frequent urination, urgency, yellow or turbid urine
Associated SymptomsLower abdominal pain, feverishness, thirst, irritability
Tongue and PulseRed tongue with yellow greasy coating, slippery and rapid pulse
PathogenesisDamp-Heat accumulating in the Bladder
EtiologyPoor hygiene, sexual activity, urinary stasis, heat-dampness invasion
