Pattern Overview

Blood Stasis is a chronic pattern in TMJ pain, characterized by disc displacement or degeneration, fibrin deposition in the joint cavity, synovial microcirculatory disturbance, fixed pain, and limited movement. The core pathogenesis is Blood stasis in the TMJ collaterals, causing synovial microcirculatory disturbance, fibrin deposition, and chronic pain.

Peach Kernel (Tao Ren), Safflower (Hong Hua), Angelica (Dang Gui), Chuanxiong (Chuan Xiong), Red Peony (Chi Shao), Rehmannia (Sheng Di), Salvia (Dan Shen), Yan Hu Suo, Licorice (Gan Cao)

Action: Invigorates blood, resolves stasis, and relieves TMJ pain.
